What Is A Cleansing Conditioner?
A cleansing conditioner is a conditioner that also doubles up as a cleanser but is free from sulphates (so it doesn’t lather like a normal cleanser or shampoo). They work well for those with thicker, dry hair and curly hair as the moisture is not stripped from the hair.
Is a cleansing conditioner the same as conditioner?
Not exactly but the both provide conditioning to the hair but the cleansing conditioner also removes some of the oil and dirt build up on the hair.
Are cleansing conditioners good for you hair?
Cleansing conditioners work best with those who have dry or thick hair types. If you have fine hair they make not work as well as you might feel your hair ie weighed down as not all the oil will have been removed when washing. They work well with hair that is prone to frizz.

Cleansing conditioners can be used as often as you wash your hair. Drier hair can go longer between washes than fine hair types.
Do you need shampoo if you use cleansing conditioner?
No you don’t need to use a shampoo as it defeats the object of using a cleansing conditioner. However, sometimes people use a shampoo every now and again for a deeper clean to remove product build up then then go back to using a cleansing conditioner. You have to work out what works best for your hair.
