Best Pilates Equipment To Buy For Working Out At Home 2024.
Pilates At Home.
Working out at home has become a lot more popular recently for obvious reasons. Here are my top selection of Pilates equipment that might be useful to you for your home Pilates workouts! Obviously it depends on how much space, budget or what level of Pilates you are at. Many of these items can also be used for other workouts such as weight training or yoga.
Pilates Reformer.
The most versatile piece of equipment. And you don’t need to worry about space as there are ones designed to go under beds or against walls etc. Here’s a selection of a few of my favourites for youth check out.
Merrithew At Home SPX Reformer - comes with a variety of attachments to give you a wider variety of exercise you can complete on this reformer. Stylish and modern looking, whilst also being light weight and manoeuvrable.
Balanced Body Allegro Reformer - from on of the main producers of Pilates equipment, these are the professionals favourite.
Stamina Aeropilates Pro XP Home Pilates Reformer - this one comes with the bounce/rebound board.
Aeropilates 701 Premier Reformer - simple but stylish reformer design.
Pilates Chair.
If you do have a little more space (or even a home gym area) then I would recommend one of these Pilates chairs. There are so many exercises that they can be used for.
Stott Pilates Merrithew Split Pedal Pilates Chair - the traditional style of Pilates chair.
Moxxi Pilates Fitness Chair - a very modern version and great if you have a smaller space.
AeroPilates Precision Pilates Chair - a modern easy to use version.
Life’s A Beach Pilates Pro Chair Max - if you want a bit of colour in your home gym then this ones for you.
Pilates Socks.
ToeSox Low Rise Grip Socks - I prefer socks that don’t cover the ends of your toes for proprioception reasons. These ones are super comfy and have a good grip.
Gaiam Grippy Studio Pilates Socks - similar to the above but lower around the ankle area.
Pilates Mat.
Gaiam Essentials Thick Yoga Mat - I prefer to use thicker mats to give your spine a bit more protection.
Stott Pilates Deluxe Pilates Mat - similar to the above, easy to roll up and transport or store.
Pilates Balls.
Pilates Ball - these are usually around 20cm diameter and can be also weighted.
Physio Ball / Medicine Ball - larger than the Pilates ball and come in a variety of sizes. These balls are not weighted.
Other Pilates Accessories.
Pilates Ring/Circle - great for arm workouts and inner thighs.
Pilates Strap - also used as yoga strap, great for assisted stretching, positioning.
Yoga Blocks - to use to give support where needed.
Foam Roller - can be used in many ways and come in various lengths and firmness.
Resistance Bands - for toning and strengthening. Great for taking when traveling.
Spine Supporter - To support your spine in some of the pilates positions.
Balance Cushions/ Mats - great fro proprioception and balance training.
I hope this helps you with deciding what equipment might be useful for your home gym/ workout area. Many of these items are very cheap! Don’t forget you can add some to you Amazon wish list and send to family around the holiday season so they can order the things you wish for!
