Verlinne: The feminine, sustainable and thoughtful slow fashion brand from Transylvania
Wooly Jumper Season Is Here….
It’s wooly jumper weather here in Amsterdam, the temp has dropped significantly and although not below freezing yet, you know it’s not far off. My Winter wardrobe has been a little bare the last few years due to living in a sub-tropical climate in Bermuda for the previous 6 years before moving to Amsterdam. This year I have added some wool and cotton jumpers in neutral colours to my collection. For the past year I have been creating a more neutral sustainable wardrobe of pieces that work well together. Also making sure to add good guilty natural fibres only, no more synthetic materials if I can avoid it. I recently came across the brand Verlinne which is based in Romania. They use GOTS certified organic cotton and wool from Romania and Britain that is collected ethically and processed by hand. My items were made to order specifically for me and my sizes, which I love when brands do this, yes it means waiting a little longer for them to arrive but so worth it. No dead-stock items which is one of the biggest problem in the fashion industry today. All their items are made in Romania and shipped using only paper packaging, no plastic. Why can’t all brands do this already? sigh….
Verlinne also use traditional techniques and wooden looms to make their clothing items. They also have an amazing Summer collection of linen dresses that I hope to be able to add to my summer wardrobe next year.
Built To Last.
Verlinne create products that are built to last for a long time and not just a season , using natural materials for the way they feel on the skin and because their production involves less resources and has a less adverse impact on the environment. If you’re wanting to support a sustainable brand this gifting season why not have a look and see if any of your loved ones would enjoy something from Verlinne.
